Neal S. Chawla, MD

Early Life & Education

Dr. Neal S. Chawla is a native of Southern California with a lifelong ambition to become a Sarcoma Oncologist. His journey began at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in Bangalore, India, where he completed his medical education. 

Upon returning to Southern California, he pursued oncology research in the field of sarcoma at the Sarcoma Oncology Center. In 2016, he further enhanced his expertise by completing the Cancer Biology and Therapeutics course at Harvard Medical School.

Residency & Fellowship Training

Dr. Neal Chawla completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL, in 2020. Following his residency, he joined the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center as a post-doctoral research fellow. 

In 2021, he advanced his training by entering the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program at City of Hope.

Professional Role & Research

Currently, Dr. Neal Chawla is the Associate Director of Clinical Research at the Sarcoma Oncology Center. He is committed to clinical and translational Sarcoma research, with a particular interest in Chondrosarcoma.
